Post Induction Training and Professional Development” workshop

FAISALABAD June 23: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) opened a “Post Induction Training and Professional Development” workshop at the Faculty Museum, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences. A week long training is designed to equip newly inducted faculty with academic, research and administrative skills crucial for excelling in the higher education sector. At inaugural ceremony, UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali emphasized the vital role of teachers in nation-building. He said that UAF always strives to equip teachers with modern pedagogical tools and professional ethics that are essential in today’s academic landscape. He stressed the importance of student-centered teaching strategies that promote critical thinking, creativity and active learning. He encouraged the participants to focus on continuous improvement and innovation in teaching practices to meet the evolving needs of higher education. Prof Dr Rao Zahid Abbas highlighted the significance of adopting new teaching trends in modern academia. He emphasized the need for shifting from traditional lecture methods to interactive, technology-driven approaches that enhance student’ learning outcomes. Director Academics and Teaching Resource Dr Al-Hafizah Shafia Tehseen Gul outlined the core objectives of the workshop, emphasizing the professional grooming of newly inducted faculty members. She said that it is need of the hour to adopt new teaching trends rather than following the same traditional ones. Dr Faisal Shahbaz, Dr Ayesha Kiran and others also spoke at the event.
