FAISALABAD July 1: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) and Digi Khata (SMC-Private) Limited inked a Memorandum of Understanding to support innovation, industry-academia linkages and promote learning opportunity. The MoU was duly signed by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali and Digi Khata CEO Adnan Aslam. Director Business Incubation Center (BIC) Prof Dr Iftikhar Ahmad, Dr Zubair Aslam and others also attended. Digi Khata will provide Internships placements for UAF students and graduates to equip them with practical exposure. They would support for the university transitions to paperless and digital transactions. The collaboration further aims to boost the visibility, branding of student and faculty innovations, facilitating their commercialization to benefit academia and industry. In addition, the agreement includes co-sponsoring of expos and similar events by the BIC. Joint execution of case-specific collaborative projects involving faculty and the researchers is also a part of the partnership, opening new doors for research and development. Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali said that academia-industry linkages are vital to national development and economic stability. He emphasized the need for practical collaborations that promote young entrepreneurs and startups. He said that this partnership will not only benefit the students but also contribute to the county’s economic growth. He added that university was taking all possible measures to develop entrepreneurship and business skills among the students.
