FAISALABAD July 2: Keeping rapid advancements and evolving global challenges in view, it is need of the hour to ensure the curriculum befitting the demands of modern era. It was discussed at a four-day meeting of the National Curriculum Review Committee (NCRC) for agriculture degree programs at the Center for Advanced Studies, University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC). UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali, HEC Director General Curriculum Dr Amjad Hussain, Secretary NAEAC Dr. Abdul Ghaffar, Dean Faculty of Agriculture Prof Dr Ghulam Murtaza and others attended the meeting. The primary objective was to review and modernize the existing curriculum to better align with evolving community priorities and the dynamic needs of the agriculture industry. UAF Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali said that the university was used to revisit the curriculum in order to produce skilled manpower having capabilities to address the challenges of the modern era. He said that the agriculture was confronting with different issues including climate changes, deteriorating soil health, low productivity and others. Director General HEC Dr. Amjad Hussain stressed upon the need to strengthen the agricultural education framework, nurturing future-ready graduates, and advancing Pakistan’s sustainable agricultural development goals. The event brought together leading academic experts and scholars from agricultural universities across the country, representing diverse disciplines within the field. Directorate of Academics and Teaching Resources, UAF facilitated all the activities.
