Down Syndrome Program

FAISALABAD Aug 11: Speakers at a seminar on down syndrome at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad called for importance of strengthening support mechanisms for individuals with down syndrome. The event titled awareness session on down syndrome was organized by University of Agriculture Faisalabad in collaboration with Karachi Down Syndrome Program. Institute of Home Sciences Director Dr Beenish Israr, Dr Ayesha Riaz, Dr Alvina Haseeb, Dr Adeela Manzoor, Assistant Manager KDSP Aimen Rashid and other notable spoke on the occasion. They said that down syndrome was a chromosomal condition, but with proper rehabilitation services, individuals can be fully mainstreamed into society. With the timely proper support and early intervention, these individuals can lead independent and fulfilling lives. The event featured success stories of individuals with Down syndrome, and the need for collaborative efforts to enhance accessibility and opportunities.
