FAISALABAD Oct 09: To meet the needs of ever increasing population, it is necessary to equip the youth with leadership skills, innovative thinking and entrepreneurial vision to boost country’s economic growth. It was stated by the speakers at two-day boot-camp organized by Business Incubation Center (BIC) at University of agriculture Faisalabad (UAF). CEO of Pakistan Institute of Entrepreneurship, Tahir Mehmood said that leadership begins with self-awareness and the courage to take initiative. He said every business idea can be transform into startup with teamwork, discipline and leadership qualities. He said that agriculture is the backbone of Pakistan’s economy, contributing significantly to GDP and employing a large portion of the population. The sector provides raw materials for industries and plays pivotal role in ensuring food security. Despite the importance, the sector facing many challenges. He urged students to opt for agriculture as career and take part in national stability as agriculture is the only way to rise internationally. Principal Officer Rao Zahid Abbas said that future belongs to those who think differently and act decisively. He said that leadership is about inspiring others to achieve collective goals and it is not confined to a mindset which drives progress. He added that UAF was taking all possible efforts to provide students experimental-based learning and skill-based trainings. Director BIC Prof Dr Iftikhar Ahmad said that our youth is full of potential and eager to explore new horizons, they just need appropriate and timely guidance by experts. He said that this boot-camp will empower young minds with making business strategies for becoming visionary leaders for the future. Waheed Khaliq Ramay said that youth is the ambassador of change. He said they must learn to lead with integrity in every walk of life.
