FAISALABAD Nov 28, 2025: The promotion of precision agriculture is a need of the hour for the judicious use of resources, increase productivity and to make agriculture a profitable business, said Dr. Zulfiqar Ali, the Vice Chancellor, the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF). He expressed these views while inspecting new technologies during a visit to the Centre for Advanced Studies. He emphasized that in light of issues like climate change and water scarcity, we must promote innovation in agriculture. He said that the excessive use of fertilizers and sprays not only increases costs but also gives rise to health problems. He stated that agriculture could be improved by using modern technology for the appropriate application of sprays and fertilizers. He highlighted that UAF is taking steps to introduce latest technology in the agriculture. He also noted that the university has launched the Kisan 360 App, which provides guidance to farmers regarding fertilizers, water, and other agricultural inputs.
