FAISALABAD Dec 5, 2025: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad took out a rally to mark the world soil day 2025. It was arranged by Institute of Soil and Environmental Sciences UAF. Leading the walk, UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali said that our soils were being degraded due to climates changes and human activities. He said that sustainable soil management practices reduce erosion and pollution. He stressed upon the need to preserve soil biodiversity, improve fertility, and contribute to carbon sequestration, playing a crucial role in the fight against climate change. Dean Faculty of Agriculture Prof Dr Ghulam Murtaza said that World Soil Day (WSD) is held annually on 5 December as a means to focus attention on the importance of healthy soil and to advocate for the sustainable management of soil resources.
