FAISALABAD Jan 07, 2026: The decreasing soil fertility and climate change are posing a threat of food insecurity, for which agricultural scientists will have to find viable solutions. This was stated by University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Dr Zulfiqar Ali while addressing the participants of training organized for officers of the Agriculture Department under the auspices of the Professional Training and Skill Development Center, UAF. He said that in the context of increasing population and decreasing agricultural land, we have to introduce such technologies that can increase per acre production and reduce input and cost. He said that the Pakistan is among those countries where water scarcity are intensifying. He said that we have to genetically develop such varieties that are resistant to climate change. He said that the university is trying to bring modern technology to the doorsteps of farmers. Coordinator Dr. Neelam Chaudhry said that to enhance the capacity of the officers of the Agriculture Department, trainings are organized at UAF in which they are imparted with modern trends, scientific and administrative matters.
