University of Agriculture Faisalabad and Pak Suzuki has inked a Memorandum of Understanding.

FAISALABAD Feb 23: University of Agriculture Faisalabad and Pak Suzuki has inked a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate in Biochar and related technology, research & development and commercialization The MoU was duly inked by University of Agriculture, Faisalabad Vice Chancellor and Prof Dr. Zulfiqar Ali; and MD and CEO Pak Suzuki Hiroshi Kawamura. In line with its plan to reduce Carbon footprint for cleaner environment in Pakistan through waste to energy sustainable technologies; Pak Suzuki Motor Company and University of Agriculture, Faisalabad are entering a new phase of Joint collaboration. Deans Dr. Ghulam Murtaza, Dr. Qamar Bilal, Dr. Rao Zahid Abbas, Dr. Imran Pasha, Dr. Waqas Wakil, Dr. Shazia Ramzan, Directors Dr. Tahseen Azhar, Dr. Sultan Habibullah, Dr. Muhammad Naveed, Dr. Khurram Zia and others attended. Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali said through Biochar Technology, we aim to convert agricultural waste into value-added products that enhance soil fertility, improve water retention, increase nutrient efficiency, and contribute to long-term carbon sequestration. This initiative supports climate-smart agriculture while simultaneously reducing environmental pollution and carbon footprint. He said that we are already working together in the areas of biogas/biofuel and biofertilizer plant consultancy, and the inclusion of bio-char technology further strengthens our shared vision of a circular bio-economy. The commercialization of biochar-based biofertilizers will contribute to improving agricultural productivity and supporting farmers across the country. Hiroshi Kawamura thanked UAF team and mentioned that Pak Suzuki in line with its vision.. “to be a trusted mobility partner for an inclusive future”; views this project as a socially responsible corporate entity where it wants to promote technologies that bring socioeconomic improvement in the lives of people; whether its farmers, students or consumers, as we believe in sustainable future for all.
