Minister Counsellor to Pakistan from Indonesia H.E Rahmat Hindiarta Kusuma visted University of Agriculture Faisalabad.

FAISALABAD May 11: Minister Counsellor to Pakistan from Indonesia H.E Rahmat Hindiarta Kusuma said that educational ties between two nations will be further strengthened to get benefit from each other experiences and fight the common challenges. He visited the University of Agriculture Faisalabad and called on UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali, deans and directors. The meeting discussed the agriculture, educational and research and Halal meat. Rahmat Hindiarta Kusuma said that we should also enhance educational collaboration and exchange programs for betterment in the agricultural field. He hailed the steps being taken on the part of UAF for agricultural sector. He also stressed upon the need to enhance the people to people contact that will bring the both nations closer. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali said that the relationship between Pakistan and Indonesia represents a strategic alliance between two of the world’s largest Muslim-majority agrarian economies. UAF through formal agreement with premier Indonesian institutions like nstitute Pertanian Bogor University, a continuous exchange of knowledge is taking place whereas LoI between UAF-Pakistan and Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas PGRI Semarang, Indonesia serves for academia and research excellence to address the challenges. Taking bout the potential universities and collaboration avenues, he said that collaboration with IPB University (Bogor Agricultural University), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Universitas Brawijaya (UB), Universitas Padjadjaran (UNPAD) Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Yogyakarta (UNU), Universitas Hasanuddin (UNHAS), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) and Universitas Indonesia (UI) in differnet areas including Drought and heat-tolerant wheat and brassica varieties, high-performance crop modeling, bio-compounds and water-use efficiency, robotic farm operations, genomic selection and Strategic insights into OIC food security frameworks and trade barrier reduction would bring tangible results.
