FAISALABAD May 12: University of Agriculture Faisalabad took out a thalassemia awareness walk to raise public understanding about thalassemia, its prevention, and the importance of regular screening and hosted Red Cell Symposium -a day of awareness, learning & impact. It was arranged by Blood Donor Society under the umbrella of Senior Tutor Office. Dr. Farwa Batool Shamsi — Head of Department, Pathology Department, FMU, Dr. Shamsa Kamal — Assistant Professor, Department of Pathology, FMU, Dr. Muhammad Kashif — Associate Professor, PBG Department, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Dr. Sadia Saleem — CVS Consultant, PTGD and Abdul Manan — Genetic Counsellor, PTGD, Dr. Mahwish Israr and others enlightened the audience about various red cell disorders, genetic conditions, awareness strategies, and the importance of early diagnosis and community support.
