FAISALABAD, July 7: University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali has called upon PhD scholars to focus on innovation, tangible research outcomes, and securing research funding to address the country's agricultural and socio-economic challenges. He was addressing an interactive session with PhD scholars organized by the Directorate of Graduate Studies at New Senate Hall on Tuesday. Director Graduate Studies. Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali urged them to go beyond academic publications and translates into practical solutions for farmers, industries, and policymakers. He said innovation-driven and problem-oriented research is essential for ensuring food security, climate resilience, sustainable agriculture, and economic development. The Vice Chancellor stressed that researchers should actively compete for funded research projects. He added that attracting research grants enable scholars to undertake cutting-edge research with global relevance. He encouraged PhD scholars to collaborate with industry, research organizations, and international universities to maximize the impact of their work. Sharing the University's future vision, Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali said that UAF is mapping out a new Studentship Program for talented postgraduate students that will help them generate income. He urged scholars to uphold the highest standards of research ethics, originality, and academic integrity while developing innovative ideas that contribute to national progress. He assured the participants that the University administration would continue providing an enabling environment, modern research facilities, and mentorship to help scholars excel in their academic and professional careers.
