The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) and Universitas Andalas (UNAND), Indonesia, have signed a Letter of Intent.
FAISALABAD, July 23: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) and Universitas Andalas (UNAND), Indonesia, have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to strengthen academic cooperation and promote collaborative research, faculty and student exchange, innovation, and international engagement. Under the agreement, the two universities will work together in a wide range of academic and research activities, including student and faculty exchange, staff mobility, joint research projects, publications, academic supervision, visiting professorships, innovation and commercialization initiatives, and the organization of academic conferences. The collaboration will focus on key disciplines including agriculture, agricultural economics and policy, animal science, food technology, forestry, environmental science, fisheries, veterinary medicine, biotechnology, renewable energy, precision agriculture, climate change, and sustainable development. The LoI aims to strengthen academic collaboration, enhance international mobility, increase joint scientific publications, promote innovation, and further improve the global reputation of both institutions. According to the document, the Letter of Intent serves as a framework for future collaboration. The agreement will remain effective for five years from the date of the final signature and may be extended by mutual consent. It also provides for compliance with the applicable laws, quality assurance standards, and institutional regulations of both universities. The Letter of Intent was signed on behalf of UAF by Dr. Muhammad Tehseen Azhar, Director External Linkages, in the presence of UAF Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali and focal person Prof. Dr. Muhammad Asif Kamran, Director of the Agricultural Policy, Law and Governance Center, and witnessed. On behalf of Universitas Andalas, the document was signed by Prof. Dr. Ir. Rudi Febriamansyah, Coordinator of the Development Study Program, Graduate School.
