The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) has enhanced a range of health and welfare facilities for female students residing in its hostels under Female Welfare and Wellness Initiatives.

FAISALABAD, Aug 8: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) has enhanced a range of health and welfare facilities for female students residing in its hostels under Female Welfare and Wellness Initiatives. It was inaugurated at Maryam Hall by the Mrs. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Zulfiqar Ali who was flanked with Chief Hall Warden Dr. Humaira Razzaq, Deputy Hall Warden Female wing Dr. Aisha Khatoon , Associate Hall Warden Nasreen Akhtar, Dr. Sadaf Mehmood, Zunaira Iftikhar, all female hall senette and students. Under the initiatives bicycles, refrigerators, microwave ovens, fitness equipment and vending machines were given to the hostels. Dr Humaira Razaq said as per the vision of the Vice Chancellor, the university was taking measures to improve hostel facilities and provide students with a healthy and conducive living environment.She said that with young people increasingly spending much of their time on technology, it was important to encourage them to participate in healthy activities. The younger generation has to play a vital role in shaping the country’s future, and promoting healthy lifestyles among students is therefore essential, she added. She said more than 9,000 students were residing in UAF hostels, where facilities included a women’s sports complex, gymnasium, swimming pool, basketball court and other modern amenities. Zunaira Iftikhar and Nasreen Akhtar briefed the guests about various student activities.They said that the newly introduced facilities were aimed at improving the wellbeing, and overall living environment of female students. A former UAF student, Sabahat Zulfiqar, said that hostelites face numerous issues. However, the facilities being provided and initiatives taken on the part of UAF were commendable for a conducive living and academic environment.
