Research Areas: Dr Haq Nawaz is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan. He earned his PhD degree from FOCAS Research Institute, Dublin Institute of Technology, Dublin, Ireland in the supervision of Prof Dr Hugh J Byrne, while working on Raman micro spectroscopy for studying the interaction of anticancer agents with the target cancer cell lines by using different techniques including Raman spectroscopy, Flow cytometry (expression analysis of the apoptotic and anti-apoptotic proteins) and cell viability/cytotoxicity assays". Recently, he is trying to explore the applications of the Raman micro spectroscopy in disease diagnosis and drug-target interaction. The on-going research work includes the use of Raman spectroscopy and Multivariate data analysis techniques for the diagnosis of Hepatitis C and breast cancer. In this regard, an International Research grant of the worth 10,000 US has recently been awarded to him by ISESCO as well as a 0.5 M PKR as HEC start-up research grants.
